Blogging is Difficult when Wearing Plate Armor and a Shield

...But not really.

Well, hello out there readers! My name is Cláymore, or better known by his peers as "that one guy with the voice crack" or "that tank with the annoying-ass A in his name". Anyway, I'll be blogging all about Warriors in my weekly blog post (which I'm still trying to come up with a name for), and maybe even sending out a blog post daily (or so). This picture here is, of course, the full Tier 8 set as provided by mmo-champion.com. Haven't had any luck with most of the pieces so far, but at least I got my helm! ^.^

Anyway, I suppose I can start off my very first blog by talking about some things that Blizzard is doing for us players in order to help us understand our classes more, such as the numerous Q&A threads that they have posted on all of the class-specific forums on their site. Specifically, for the Warrior forum, Forum Blue Crygil seems to be running the show, and what a show it is. At the time of me posting this blog, there are over 25 pages of questions! Damn!

As you can see in the thread, there are several great questions coming from our fellow players that would be really nice to know the answers to. One example is a question from Konoko of Perenolde [A]:

"Warriors have to work hard at tanking and especially hard at AoE tanking. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that no warrior attacks have a lasting "tick" and need to be refreshed. While the debuff is up, it does no damage. Is there going to be some addressing of the AoE tanking abilities a warrior has, possibly some damage that occurs while our debuffs are up?"

A good question indeed. We know warrior tanks have a few AoE abilities, such as Thunder Clap and Shockwave and Cleave even, but Konoko brings up a very good point. The other tanking classes seem to have some ability with a ticking damage mechanic or something similar that seemingly allows them to keep mobs on them easier, while all we have are stuns and debuffs. While those are great as well, when it comes to AoE tanking in Ulduar, I have yet to meet a raid leader that would rather take a Warrior to tank an AoE pack over a Paladin or Death Knight.

From talents, to class mechanics, to even some players flat-out saying that the Warrior class plain sucks, the thread has several thoughtful and intelligent questions that would be really cool to know some answers for (besides the Warriors sucking part of course; I'll say that we're probably the least preferred tank at the moment for several reasons, but we don't entirely fail at tanking well).

Now that I mention it, it does seem that Blizzard has been making several changes to the Warrior class with some mixed views. They made some good changes, such as reducing penalties in stances slightly while adding some bonuses and reducing some cooldowns of some abilities, but they have also made some other changes that are just plain nerfs, such as the 10% decrease in damage for Titan's Grip. It just seems to me and apparently several other players that Warriors are possibly going the path of the BM Hunter or perhaps are in need of some fixes or explanations as to why things are the way they are for this class.

Still, hopefully Blizzard will respond soon with our answers, just as they have recently with the Shaman class, then maybe we can see some more light on our once great class.

In conclusion, I'd like to say that it's great to be here as a blogger, and I look forward to possibly answering some questions on the podcast for you all! (I may even be planning to cover other topics in the future as well. Stay tuned!)
